Frequently Asked Questions About the JCC's e-News

1. How do I suscribe to the JCC's e-News?

Click "Subscribe" in the upper-right-hand corner of this site. Or you can click here. If you have any difficulties, feel free to e-mail us at info@jccslo.com or by phone at 805.426.5465.

2. What is in the e-News?

JCCSLO's weekly e-News lists upcoming JCC events and programming, as well as the events and programming of other local Jewish organizations. Generally speaking, we only cover what's coming up in the next week. Further out into the future, you can view our community calendar.

3. I don't like a lot of clutter in my inbox. How can I stay on top of things?

We understand. If you don't want to receive e-mails from JCCSLO but still want to know what we have going on, you may view the e-News through our Facebook and Twitter pages (you do not need to be a member of either site to view those pages). You can always check out the calendar too.

4. I see a mistake in your e-News. What can I do?

Please let us know. Keep in mind that we have an entirely volunteer staff and we rely on third parties to provide much of the information, so we're only as good as our sources. Our e-mail system allows a limited number of "sends" each month. As a result, the most efficient way for us to update mistakes is on our Facebook and Twitter pages. However, we do our best to make sure people get to the right place at the right time.

5. I don't see an event at my synagogue listed. Why not?

Generally speaking, JCCSLO's e-News only lists non-religious functions open to the general public. Sometimes the line between religious and non-religious events is hard to draw. We do our best. Also, it's possibly as simple as us not having heard about it.

6. How do I get an event from my organization listed in your e-News?

If your organization would like to get an event listed, please contact us. If you are interested in regular coverage in our e-News, please take the following steps:
  • (a) Designate a single point of contact for us. That person should have the final word on when things are, what things you want listed, and what things you don't. Also, we will only accept input through that person.
  • (b) Submit your list of events for the upcoming week no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday.
  • (c) If you can provide us with a list of the dates of future events, please let us know that too, and we will add it to the calendar, and, space permitting, to the weekly e-News.
