JCC Supporters - Our BackboneIn a recent community-wide survey, almost 200 households in San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara counties told us they view JCC programs positively. By connecting and representing all Jewish people - whether or not they are affiliated to the various Jewish institutions in the region – these programs are valued, appreciated, and enjoyed.
However, their future is not guaranteed. Individual donations are valuable, but unpredictable. Like all non-profits, the JCC has a budget which requires predictable income. This budget supports our small infrastructure and all of our programs such as Jewish Family Services, Camp Shoreshim, Deli Day and other programs the community relies on. Equally importantly, our budget supports the work of our Community Affairs Council. Our Community Affairs Council has become a vitally important voice in our larger community today. Our council leaders have met with many local community organizations and law enforcement to help them better understand the Jewish community’s needs for support and protection, and to work within our community to bring attention to anti-Semitic rhetoric and educate and inform other regional leadership about the urgency of this growing issue. This work MUST continue, JCC is the unifying voice for Jews in our community. The annual “JCC Supporter” contribution was developed in order to help ensure JCC can continue to offer the programs and work we know is important to our community. In addition to the request that everyone participating and/or connecting to our organization donate via the Supporter program, we look to continue with the current Sustainable Donor and Business Supporter donations, in addition to individual larger donations to the organization or to favored programs. Without these annual supporter donations, programs cannot continue. This new lifeline will create a reliable structure for all the programs and services you’ve come to expect. We need a minimum of 50 supporters, at an annual donation of $144.00. JCC supporters are the bedrock of the organization and allow us to continue all of our current programming. The Sustainable Donation is at a level of $500 annually, Business Supporters at $360.00. |

"Friends: I just donated $144 to the JCC-SLO. What impresses me the most about the JCC-SLO is that they give back to our community. If someone calls in asking for a gas card, a grocery card or the like, the JCC of SLO gives - without question as to the person's religion. This has always impressed me.
Organizations such as the JCC-SLO are all about community. Building community and giving back to the community.
